Michigan State Head Coach Tom Izzo
“That’s as well as we have played all year as far as shooting the basketball. We made some adjustments in the second half with our defense. They were picking apart our zone early. That is why we had to make adjustments.
“Marcus (Taylor) is a great player, but I am more impressed with the way Marcus runs this team rather than how he scores.
“I mentioned to the guys that we are still the champions and the title is still ours until someone takes that away. This win was big for us, we knew it was going to be tough. They are a very good team.”
Ohio State Head Coach Jim O’Brien
“You have to give them all the credit in the world. They came in and played as well as I have seen them play all year. I scratch my head over this, statistically. Taylor showed why people think he is an All-American candidate.
“They got a lot of easy baskets in transition and stuffed it down our throats. That’s probably the area that I am most disappointed.
“It is disappointing not to win the co-championship at home. We just ran into a tough team tonight. I didn’t say much to the guys afterwards, they all know what it is we still have to do.”
Boban Savovic
“We were right with them until the last five minutes of the game when we started to slip. They hit a couple of big threes and had rebounds for easy baskets. We wanted to finish with a win on our home court, we wanted to dedicate the game to our fans, but we just couldn’t get the win.
“Michigan State had a great offensive night. It’s hard to beat them when they are hitting shots like that. You have to give them credit. “We have to put this game behind us and get ready to play for the title at Michigan.”
Brian Brown
“We knew their game because we played them before, but they just killed us on the transition. Tonight our defense really struggled.
“The loss is a big set back for us, but it helps that Indiana lost. It’s going to be tough to win on the road, but we’re going to be ready.
“Senior night was full of emotion. I remember Scoonie (Penn) and those guys going out with a win and that’s what we wanted too. It hurts, but we still have a title to play for. We just have to be prepared.”
