Dials To Miss 4-6 Weeks With Back Ailment – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio–Jim O’Brien, Ohio State head men’s basketball coach, said Monday sophomore center Terence Dials (Youngstown, Ohio/Boardman) will miss the next 4-6 weeks of practice and games with a stress fracture in his back.
Dials had a bone scan performed Friday and results indicated a stress fracture in his lumbar spine (level 2). He will be unable to play or practice. Treatment requires inactivity and rest. Dials (6-9, 240) played the first six games of the season for the Buckeyes (6-3). He started four of the six games in which he appeared. He averaged 7.0 points and 5.8 rebounds in 22.5 minutes per game before the injury.
He has not played since Dec. 18 at Pittsburgh but practiced through Dec. 21 . Dials participated in the morning shootaround Dec. 21 before a game against Seton Hall but was unable to play in that game. The Buckeyes play host to Hampton (4-2) at 8 p.m. tonight at Value City Arena.
