Columbus, Ohio-The Big Ten Champion Ohio State women’s soccer team (10-10-1), an automatic qualifier to the NCAA Tournament, travels to South Bend, Ind. to face the host Notre Dame Fighting Irish (11-7) in the first round of play on Friday, Nov. 15 at 7 p.m. at Notre Dame’s Alumni Field.
The winner of the Ohio State-Notre Dame first round match will face the winner of the Purdue versus Eastern Illinois game, which will also take place at Alumni Field on Friday at 5 p.m.
Friday’s winners will face each other on Sunday, Nov. 17 in a second round match set to kick off at 1 p.m.
Ohio State head coach Lori Walker expressed her excitement at such a great opportunity for her team.
“We are writing history for Ohio State soccer,” Walker said. “I could not think of a more fitting collection of seniors and talented group to be the program’s first NCAA qualifier. South Bend will be an exciting atmosphere to play in and our team enjoys rising to the challenge of playing the nation’s top programs. I am very pleased with our seeding. The location is very travel-friendly for us and will allow our fans to come out and support the team.”
