%^$Brian Brown was named Big Ten Player of the Week after leading Ohio State to a pair of Big Ten wins last week to remain undefeated atop the Conference standings. The 5-0 Buckeyes have jumped out to their best start in League play since opening at 7-0 during the 1990-91 campaign. The OSU senior guard shot 58 percent from the field (15-26) last week and averaged 20.5 points and 5.5 rebounds per contest.%^$
%^$Brown opened the week with 15 points and five rebounds in a win over Penn State to set up a showdown between two undefeated teams, as the Buckeyes hosted Indiana on Saturday with both teams at 4-0 in Conference play. The New York native broke loose for a career-best 26 points against the Hoosiers, shooting 77 percent from the floor by hitting 10-13 shots, to lead OSU to the win. The Buckeyes are now in sole possession of first place in the Big Ten and have won 12 straight League games, the longest winning streak by an Ohio State team in nearly 30 years. Brown also climbed to No. 32 on the OSU scoring charts and has produced 1,107 points in his career.%^$
%^$Brown earns the third Big Ten Player of the Week honor of his career, as the OSU senior was selected twice as a junior. He is the second Buckeye to be honored this season, as fellow senior Boban Savovic garnered the award on Jan. 7. Brown was a third-team All-Big Ten selection last season.%^$
