Synchronized Swimming Wins OSU Tri-Meet – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State synchronized swimming team defeated Miami (Ohio) and Walsh University in a tri-meet hosted at the varsity pool at the Mike Peppe Aquatic Center Saturday in Larkins Hall. The Buckeyes ended the meet with a team total of 119.5 points, ahead of the Cavaliers (85) and Marlins (31.5).
Mary Hofer (Sr., Spring Valley, Calif.) earned top honors in the solo event with a score of 88.666. Sisters Isabela Moraes (Sr., Sao Paulo, Brazil) and Carolina Moraes (Sr., San Paulo, Brazil) finished first in the duet (94.500) while the three of them teamed up to win the trio (94.500).
Carolina Moraes finished first in the ‘A’ figures event with a score of 76.738 while teammates Laura Green (Fr., Indianapolis, Ind.) and Mary Elliott (Fr., Harrison, Ohio) were first in the ‘B’ and ‘C’ figure events, respectively.
Ohio State (2-0) will return to action against the University of Alabama-Birmingham Feb. 2 in Birmingham, Ala.
