Ohio State head coach Jim O’Brien
“We did a good job pressuring the ball in the second half. We were a little disappointed with Sharif (Chambliss) and Brandon (Watkins) having 23 of their 27 in the first half. You have to give our guys credit. Our guards did a very good job and played tough defense.
“You have to be happy with five guys in double figures. It was one of those workmanlike games. We played good defense and kept them below 60 points, which is one of our goals on defense, but we also were very efficient on offense.
“We were really focused on this game. We are not good enough to think about two or three games down the road. We focus on our next opponent, so now we can talk about Indiana. Our kids deserve a lot of credit for staying focused on the task at hand.”
Brian Brown
“We know we have to take one game at a time. Now we are 4-0 and on top of the Big Ten with Indiana and after Saturday only one team will be at the top. It will be a tough game Saturday but we knew we couldn’t overlook Penn St.
“A lot of guys contributed tonight, and that’s what makes us a great team. We need the fans to come out to the Schott on Saturday and go crazy like they did against Iowa and help us get a win on Saturday.”
Zach Williams
“We are one of those teams that have a different guy step up each night. We really focused on Penn St. and as soon as the buzzer sounded we can start thinking about Indiana. After tonight that is the only team going through our minds. “You can’t look past a team because that is how you get beat. They are a team that lives and dies on their three-point shot and we knew if you played good defense and hit the glass that we would be successful.”
Boban Savovic
“We knew they (Penn St.) were great shooters. Our defense came out stronger in the second half and we got some fast breaks that led us to develop our offense. Five guys stepped up and as long as we can keep doing that we are going to win a lot of games.
“As soon as this game finished we put our minds on Indiana. We couldn’t look past this team because we knew we could lose but know we are focusing on Saturday’s game.
Penn State Head Coach Jerry Dunn
“I thought we did a very poor job on the boards, especially in the first half. When Tyler (Smith) is not in the game, it certainly takes away from our rebounding. He shouldn’t be the only one who we count on to rebound. That really hurt us in the first half.”
“I think their perimeter defense is what makes them strong. They force you to make that extra pass that you don’t want to make and that makes you turn the ball over more than you should.”
