Buckeyes Remain in Top 5 in Sears Directors’ Cup Standings – Ohio State Buckeyes

%^$COLUMBUS, Ohio– The National Association of Collegiate Athletics Directors (NACDA) released its final standings for the Sears Directors’ Cup for Divisions II, III and the NAIA and updated the Division I race in which Ohio State currently stands fifth. The final Division I standings will be posted June 21 following the conclusion of the NCAA College World Series.%^$
%^$Stanford, with 1,259.5 points, leads the Division I race by 121.5 points over intrastate rival UCLA (1,138 points) and has already clinched the trophy for the seventh-consecutive year. The Cardinal remain in contention for the World Series title and points earned in baseball will only add to their margin of victory. Michigan stands third with 864.5 points and is closely followed by Arizona (863) and the Buckeyes (861). OSU, one of the 64 participants in the baseball tournament, could gain additional points at the conclusion of the World Series. Neither the Wolverines nor the Wildcats made the field of 64 in baseball so their totals are final.%^$
%^$Along with SU, the 2000-01 champions include University of California-Davis in Division II, its fourth title in six years, Williams College in Division III, its fifth in the last six years, and Simon Fraser University in the NAIA, its fifth-consecutive title. Trophies were presented to the champions and the Top 5 finishers in each division at the NACAD convention in Salt Lake City, Utah, June 12.%^$
