COLUMBUS, Ohio – Coming off an impressive showing in Charlottesville, Va., where it defeated No.4 Virginia and North Carolina, the Ohio State women’s rowing team heads to Princeton, N.J., to face off with No. 1 Brown and No. 3 Princeton at 11 a.m. Saturday.
BUILDING STEAM
Head coach Andy Teitelbaum said his squad’s showing last week was a confidence builder, but this weekend presents an even bigger challenge. “Obviously, we gained a lot of confidence last weekend,” he said. “At the same time we have to keep looking forward. Both Princeton and Brown have great potential. We need to be ready.”
JOINING A ROWING RIVALRY
Along with Washington-California, Teitelbaum said the Brown-Princeton Regatta is the most prestigious in the nation. He said it is an honor to compete in the event and will help his squad as the season goes on. “This is an unbelievable race,” he said. “We’re the first school outside of the those two to be a part of the event. Both schools are perenial powers. To be a part of this event is definetly exciting for us and will be helpful down the road.”
MEISSNER QUESTIONABLE
Sophomore Maxi Meissner, who missed last week with a injury, is questionable for this weekend. She had a cast removed Tuesday.
LOOKING AHEAD
The Buckeyes host Cincinnati Sunday, April 8, at the Griggs Reservoir on the Sciotto River.
