Men’s Basketball Player Recognized – Ohio State Buckeyes

%^$COLUMBUS, Ohio–The National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) announced the NABC/Chevrolet Division I All-District Teams, recognizing the country’s best men’s collegiate basketball student-athletes.%^$
%^$Ohio State senior center Ken Johnson (6-11, Detroit, Mich./Henry Ford) is a first-team selection in District 10. He is joined on the District 10 First Team by Troy Murphy (Notre Dame), David West (Xavier), Kirk Haston (Indiana) and Tony Stanley (Dayton).%^$
%^$Johnson became the Big Ten career blocked-shot record holder with six rejections at Northwestern (2/24/01). His career total of 434 ranks No. 5 in NCAA history. He is averaging 12.2 points and 6.9 rebounds a game this season. He recently eclipsed 1,000 career points at Ohio State, the 39th Buckeye to reach 1,000 career points.%^$
%^$Selected and voted on by member coaches of the NABC, these student-athletes represent the finest basketball players across the country. The 150 student-athletes, from 15 districts, are now eligible for the NABC/Chevrolet Division I All-America Team to be announced at the conclusion of the 2000-01 NCAA men’s basketball season.
