Spiller Granted Leave From Men’s Basketball Program – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio–Dave Spiller, assistant coach with the Ohio State men’s basketball team, has been granted a leave by the University from some of his coaching responsibilities, Jim O’Brien, head coach of the Buckeyes, announced Wednesday.
Spiller has been a part of O’Brien’s coaching staff for the last 11 seasons, including six at Boston College and the last five with the Buckeyes. He has 22 years of collegiate coaching experience, including a seven-year stint as the head coach of D’Youville College.
Monte Mathis, who has served as the video coordinator for the Buckeyes, will assume some of Spiller’s responsibilities on O’Brien’s coaching staff while Spiller is on leave.
Andy Murphy, who has been a volunteer working with Mathis, will take over the video coordinator’s position during this time.
