Head Coach Jim O’Brien
“I have to say it was a good game. It gave us an opportunity to play against new people. I thought we did some things well and there are other things we need to improve on. I think it (the exhibition) served its purpose.
“We were able to get a lot of guys playing time. I take responsibility for some of the sloppiness of running guys in and out. It disrupted any continuity we had but it was all by design and it was good for us.
On the freshmen in their first game at Ohio State
“They handled themselves well. At times, they were a little impatient in the bright lights and uniforms, but overall I was pleased with those guys.”
Brian Brown
“This was a good stepping stone for us. We were able to see where we are. I thought we played pretty well tonight.”
On the slow offensive start for One World
“I don’t think our defense was the difference in them not scoring for a while. They were just missing shots. They were a little careless. That happens when you have guys that have not played with each other before.
Brent Darby
“This is how we expected it to be. We have been practicing together for a couple of years and these guys have not really practiced together. This gave us an opportunity to play teams with veteran guards that played college ball. It was a great opportunity for us.
Matt Sylvester
On making his first field goal
“I felt good when I caught the ball. I had my legs under me and I was pretty sure it was going in.” Brandon Fuss-Cheatham
“The first minute and a half, I was pretty nervous. After I got up and down the court a couple of times and got a foul (called against me), I felt ready. I felt good.”
On the chemistry between himself and Matt Sylvester
“When Matt (Sylvester) gets the ball, he is going to shoot it. That is what he likes to do. As the point guard, I am going to get him the ball. Tonight, he was open and he showed us what he can do.”
On his circus layup
“I don’t really remember it, I just brought it to the hole and put it up and got fouled.”
