Fencers Continue Success At Dual Meets – Ohio State Buckeyes

Columbus, Ohio– The Ohio State fencing team defeated all but one team today at the 2001 OSU Dual meets at French Field House. The men’s team finished 5-0, and the women went 5-1.
Teams participating in the event included OSU, Cleveland State, Detroit-Mercy, Case Western, Michigan State, Northwestern and Michigan.
The men’s team cruised to five easy victories by defeating Michigan 22-5, Detroit 25-2, Case Western 25-2, Michigan State 23-4 and Northwestern 20-7.
The women’s only loss came to Northwestern, 15-12. They defeated Michigan in a close match 14-13, Cleveland State 19-2, Detroit 19-5, Case Western 19-8, and Michigan State 19-7.
The Buckeyes will next host its second OSU Open meet on Dec. 1.
