Rowing wins the varsity eight race at the Rivanna Romp – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio– The Ohio State rowing team won the varsity women’s eight race at the Rivanna Romp in Charlottesville, Va. with a time of 12 minutes and 44.11 seconds. The host school, the University of Virginia, came in second place with a time of 12:50.67. OSU’s “B” boat came in tenth place with a time of 13:55.52 after breaking a fin on a log during their race.
In the varsity four race the Buckeye “A” boat finished second with a time of 14:10.44 behind UVA at 14:04.62. The OSU “B” boat finished fourth with a time of 14:37.36.
“We came down to win the eights race and we did that,” AndyTeitelbaum, OSU head coach, said. “I think this is the first time that we have competed in this competition and a Virginia school did not win the eight race. It was also a great way to finish what was a great fall.”
This was the final event for the team this fall, they will next compete on March 30 against North Carolina and Virginia.
