Two Buckeyes Compete At World Fencing Championships – Ohio State Buckeyes

Columbus, Ohio– Two members of the Ohio State fencing team, Jason Rogers (Fr., Los Angeles, Calif./Brentwood) and Louise Bond-Williams (Fr., Gloucestershire, England/Chipping Campden) competed in the 2001 World Fencing Championships in Nimes, France over the weekend.
Rogers lost his bout in the round of 64 to Tonhi Terenzi of Italy, 15-7, finishing 55th out of 85 competitors.
Bond-Williams was victorious in her bout over Ying Zhang of China, winning 15-11, and lost a close bout in the round of 32, 15-14, to Pascale Vignaux of France. Bond-Williams finished 31st out of 80 competitors.
The Buckeye fencing team will kickoff its regular season at home Friday and Saturday, Nov. 3-4 when it hosts the OSU Open and the OSU dual meet at Larkins Hall.
