Women’s Soccer Gives Up Tough Loss To IU, 3-2 – Ohio State Buckeyes

%^$COLUMBUS, Ohio–The Ohio State women’s soccer team lost 3-2 to Indiana Sunday at Jesse%^$Owens Memorial Stadium. The Hoosiers scored two unanswered goals with less than 10 minutes%^$remaining in the match. OSU falls to 4-6 overall and 0-3 in the Big Ten, while IU improves%^$to 6-3 overall and 1-3 in the Big Ten.%^$
%^$OSU led the match twice. Kiley Enmark (So., Sterling Heights, Mich./Henry Ford II) scored in%^$the third minute off teammate Jennifer Miller’s (So., Centerville, Ohio/Centerville) free%^$kick.%^$
%^$The Hoosiers responded in the 22nd minute when freshman Shelly Gruzska shot the ball past%^$OSU goalkeeper Amber Barnes (Sr., Fairfield, Ohio/Fairfield) from 20 yards out.%^$
%^$OSU took the lead again when Sarah Lanham (So., Middletown, Ohio/Middletown) broke through%^$the IU defense and placed the ball in the top left corner of the net to give OSU a 2-1 lead.%^$OSU missed a few open net shots that could have sealed a victory for the Buckeyes.%^$
%^$”There were two or three open nets and obviously we have to sink those,” Lori Walker, head%^$coach for OSU, said. “When you don’t finish the opportunities you have, it can come back to%^$haunt you.”%^$
%^$Those missed chances did strike back when IU junior Kelly Kram’s free kick in the 83rd%^$minute was redirected by freshman Emily Hotz to tie the game at two. Only five minutes%^$later, Kram tipped in a breakaway attempt from teammate Wendy Graves to give IU its first%^$win in three games.%^$
%^$”Overall, I’m disappointed for the team,” Walker said. “I’m not disappointed in the team.”%^$
%^$OSU will return to action at 8 p.m. EDT Friday when Wisconsin plays host to OSU in Madison,%^$Wisc.%^$
