Two Buckeyes Selected to Attend NCAA Foundation Leadership Conference – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State men’s gymnast Adam Elliott (So., Erlanger, Ky.) and women’s ice hockey player Lindsey Ogren (Fr., North Oaks, Minn./Mounds View) were two of 353 student-athletes selected to participate in the fourth-annual NCAA Foundation Leadership Conference. The student-athletes were chosen from a total of 885 nominations from NCAA member institutions that participate in the CHAMPS/Life Skills Program, including representatives from all NCAA divisions, 22 different sports and more than 20 countries.
The mission of the conference is to provide a diverse group of the nation’s top student-athletes an opportunity to actively participate in challenging and thought-provoking activities that will then enable them to become better leaders. The conference will allow the student-athletes to enhance their communication skills, decision-making and problem-solving skills, critical-thinking skills and collaborative skills.
Ogren, a member of Ohio State’s inaugural women’s ice hockey team, earned WCHA all-tournament honors and ranked third on the team in both goals (10) and points (15). She also earned WCHA Rookie of the Week and Player of the Week during the season. Elliott was a pommel horse specialist this season and recorded his career high in the Buckeyes’ meet at Oklahoma.
The conference will be held May 28 through June 1 at Disney’s Wide World of Sports and Coronado Springs Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Fla.
