Women’s Crew Places Third at Lexus Cup/Central Regional Regatta – Ohio State Buckeyes

OAK RIDGE, Tenn. – The No. 13 Ohio State women’s crew placed third with 51 team points, at the Lexus Cup/Central Regional Regatta Sunday on Melton Lake in Oak Ridge, Tenn. All four Buckeye boats advanced to the Grand Finals.
The second varsity four won the Grand Final with a time of 7:44.70. The second varsity eight boat finished second behind Michigan, with a time of 6:47.60 in the Grand Final. Ohio State’s first varsity eight rowed a time of 6:39.10 to finish third, seconds behind the Wolverines and Spartans. The Buckeyes’ first varsity four boat placed sixth with a time of 7:45.60 in the Grand Final.
Big Ten rival Michigan won the race with 79 team points. Michigan State finished second with 54 points.
The two-day event served as a final tune-up for top crews before the NCAA selections on Tuesday, May 16. The championships are May 26-28 in Camden, N.J.
