The Buckeyes downed Florida State 90-65 behind a perfect shooting performance from junior co-captain Brian Brown, who led all scorers with 23 points. Brown, who set a career-high in scoring, connected on all nine of his shots from the field while going 5-for-5 from 3-point range. He also added five assists. Senior co-captain Ken Johnson became the all-time record holder in blocked shots with five against the Seminoles. He now has 329 in his career, passing the 328 rejected by Buckeye great Herb Williams (1978-81). Johnson was effective offensively as well. He worked the paint for 16 points and six rebounds. Not to be outdone were sophomore Brent Darby and junior Boban Savovic. Darby scored a career-high 18 points on 8-of-13 shooting from the field to go along with a career-best five assists. Savovic, starting his second game as a Buckeye, contributed a solid 10 points and a game and career-high eight assists. The Buckeyes got out of the gate early and never looked back. After the first 20 minutes, Ohio State led 48-37 after shooting 70 percent (19-27) from the field and 80 percent (8-10) from 3-point range. For the game, OSU connected on 60 percent (35-58) of its shots from the field and 67 percent (10-15) from long range.
The 10 made 3-pointers tie for 10th all-time for 3-pointers made in a game. The last time the Buckeyes hit for 10 in a game was March 19, 1999 against Detroit in the first round of the NCAA Tournament in Indianapolis.
