Ohio State Head Coach Jim O’Brien
“(Sean) Connolly had a tremendous game. It’s nice when a guy who comes off the bench becomes your leading scorer.
“Ken (Johnson) didn’t have one of his better games. Teams are going to know we want him to have the ball and they are going to double-team him. Yale didn’t do anything to surprise us. The one thing they did do is trap us with their four-man (forward).
“They trapped Johnson. He had no space and it limited his ability to move. Yale had two guys on him, which is an area we’re going to have to work hard at to improve.
“We came out in the second half and played well. We guarded tough.
“It’s no secret we have a long way to go.
“This game was perfect for us. The bottom line was we had to win this game.
“We wanted to get Connolly in there right from the start. Our team chemistry is pretty good but we need to improve in a hurry.
“My message to this team is just because we won three games in a row let’s not think we’re something we’re not. As a team, we still have a lot to work on.”
Yale Head Coach James Jones
“We played about as well as we can. We had a lot of offensive turnovers and that hurt us. The difference in the score was the offensive rebounds. We needed to block the ball inside and keep the ball away from them. We have to have our key players blocking the ball more.”
