Women’s Soccer Shut Out By Visiting Illinois, 4-0 – Ohio State Buckeyes

%^$COLUMBUS, Ohio– The Ohio State women’s soccer team lost to%^$Illinois, 4-0, Sunday in a Big Ten Conference game at Jesse Owens%^$Memorial Stadium. The Buckeyes record fell to 5-9 overall and 1-6 in the%^$Big Ten. The Illini improved to 8-5 overall and 4-3 in the Big Ten.%^$
%^$UI scored its first goal in the 20th minute when junior Emily%^$Brown headed the ball past OSU goalkeeper Amber Barnes (Sr., Fairfield, Ohio/Fairfield)%^$off a cross from junior Lisa Baldwin.%^$
%^$Illini freshman Kelly Walker increased the UI lead to two in%^$the 36th minute on a rebound from her first shot that Barnes deflected.%^$
%^$UI’s Brown scored her second goal of the match at 47:41 after%^$she collected a shot off the crossbar and shot the ball just past%^$Barnes’ hands. Barnes recorded six saves for OSU.%^$
The Illini finished their scoring when sophomore Tara Schuling%^$lined a shot to the top right corner of the goal at 55:34.%^$
The Buckeyes will return to action at 4 p.m.EST Friday in%^$Evansville, Ill. when they face the Northwestern Wildcats.%^$
