Women’s Soccer Ties Colgate 2-2 – Ohio State Buckeyes

The Ohio State Buckeyes took their first tie of the season against Colgate, 2-2 in double overtime. Melanie Vierling (So., Cincinnati, Ohio) gave Ohio State a 1-0 lead, four minutes into the match with a pass from Elisa Hamilton off a corner kick. Colgate’s Andrea Licari put the Red Raiders on the board with a header off a throw in. Emily Thorpe (So., Cincinnati, Ohio) netted OSU’s second goal in the 66th minute against Red Raider goalkeeper Kelly Tyrrell. OSU, 2-0-1 completes its Central New York tour and returns home Tues. Sept. 7 to host in state rival Ohio University at 5 p.m. at the Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium.
