Women’s Soccer Wins First Big Ten Match of the Season – Ohio State Buckeyes

The Ohio State Buckeyes blanked Purdue 3-0 on Sunday afternoon at the Purdue Varsity Soccer Complex. Katy Traeger (Sr., Littleton, Colo.) struck first as she scored a goal in the 6th minute of the first half. Traeger secured a pass from Shelley Besson (Fr., Kettering, Ohio) and fired a shot into the goal. The Buckeye’s second goal came from Kiley Enmark (Fr., Sterling Heights, Ohio) in the 14th minute on a free kick. Enmark angled the ball around the Boilermaker five-person wall for the goal. In the second half, Katie Martorella (Sr., Englewood, Colo.) scored OSU’s third goal on a penalty kick. The Buckeyes 6-2-2 overall (1-1-1 in the Big Ten), return home to square off against Minnesota on Sept. 1 at 4 p.m. at the Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium.
