Women’s Crew Hosts First Regatta of Season – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State crew team will host their first of two home events this season as it races against Michigan, North Carolina and perennial power Virginia.
The Buckeyes will square off against North Carolina in the morning race while Michigan battles Virginia. At 2:00 p.m., the winners of the two morning races will go against each other as will the other two schools.
The Buckeyes will face familiar competition as all four schools raced in the Whittier Cup at the San Diego Classic March 27.
In the latest US Rowing National Collegiate Rowing Coaches Poll Ohio State is ranked 14th, falling four spots since finishing 9th in San Diego. Virginia, who finished second in the event, is ranked second in the poll.
No. 6 Michigan finished 5th in the Whittier Cup while No. 17 North Carolina finished one spot behind Ohio State in 10th in the Whittier Cup.
The regatta is set to begin Saturday April 3 at 10:00 a.m. followed by the second race at 2:00 p.m. All races will be held at the Griggs Reservoir on the Scioto River.
