15-game improvement sets record
The Buckeyes won eight games last season and have already improved that mark by 15 wins this year (23-7). The old record for improving in the win column from one season to the next was set at Ohio State from 1958-59 (11-11) to 1959-60 (25-3), an improvement of 14 games. The Buckeyes won the national title in 1960.
Coleman sets another career 3-point shooting record
Senior Neshaun Coleman claimed the all-time lead in 3-pointers made with his only 3-pointer of the game against Michigan in the first round of the Big Ten Tournament. The 3-pointer came at the 11:56mark of the first half. Coleman has knocked down 145 of 429 career 3-pointers, both OSU records.
Penn moving up single season 3-point shooting chart
Junior Scoonie Penn has connected on 72 of 184 (.391) 3-pointers this season to place his name second on the single season record list at OSU for made 3-pointers and first in attempts. He is second to the 78 made by Doug Etzler in 1995. After two seasons at Boston College and one at Ohio State, Penn has connected on 176 of 507 3-pointers (.347).
Penn reaches 500-point mark
Scoonie Penn reached the 500-point mark this season with his 14 points against Michigan. He is averaging 17.1 points this season. His 513 points this season makes him just the 32nd player to reach 500 points in a single season. Teammate Michael Redd, a sophomore guard, has done it twice in his career.
Penn, Redd post dual 500-point seasons for first time in 11 years
Michael Redd and Scoonie Penn will become just the sixth duo from the same team in OSU history to score 500 or more points in the same season. Redd leads the Buckeyes with 572 (19.1 ppg.) this season Penn has 513 points and a 17.1 scoring average. Redd and Penn are the first to accomplish the feat since the 1987-88 season when Jay Burson (625) and Jerry Francis (507) managed 500 or more. OSU three-point field goal streak extended to 214
Ohio State has connected on at least one 3-point field goal attempt over the last 214 games. Senior Neshaun Coleman extended the streak at the 11:56 mark of the first half against Michigan.

OSU is 19-3 when leading at the half…91 times members of the Buckeyes have scored in double figures this season, Michael Redd has been in double digits in 29 games, Scoonie Penn 26 times…OSU is 20-1 when holding opponents under 70 points.
Redd in 21st place in OSU scoring history
Michael Redd moved into 21st place on the OSU career scoring list with 19 against Michigan. He has 1,230 career points. The No. 20 spot is held by OSU radio color commentator Ron Stokes (1982-85) who completed his career with 1,240 points.
Johnson passes Waiters to claim No. 4 spot in career blocks
Ohio State junior center Ken Johnson rejected three shots against Michigan to move into the No. 4 spot at OSU in career blocks. His 137 career blocks moved him passed Granville Waiters, who completed his career with 136.
Postseason win a first since 1992
The win over Michigan was the first for Ohio State in postseason play since the 1992 season when the Buckeyes advanced to the Soutweast Regional finals before falling to Michigan 75-71 in overtime.
