PETERSBURG, Fla. – As the Ohio State men’s basketball team arrived%^$in Tampa late yesterday and adjourned to their secluded hotel, thousands%^$of fans invaded the coastal city to eat, shop, and bask in the sun.%^$Fans could be seen at Spring Training baseball games; Hoop City, the%^$NCAA interactive playground; and the open practice for all four teams%^$held at Tropicana Field. %^$

%^$Ohio State held their open practice this afternoon beginning with their%^$workouts at noon. Duke, UConn, and Michigan State followed thereafter.%^$Following the open sessions thousands flocked to the beach and the%^$downtown area to get a feel for the Floridian paradise that is hosting%^$the 1999 Final Four.%^$

%^$Today might have been fun for all of the fans and teams involved, but%^$tomorrow its all business. The Buckeyes tangle with the Huskies on%^$Saturday in the first of two semifinal games beginning at 5:42 p.m.%^$(EST). The winner of that semifinal will play the winner of the%^$Duke/Michigan State game in the National Championship on Monday evening%^$at approximately 9:15 p.m. (EST). %^$
