Ohio State – Michigan Quotes, 2/9/99 Attendance: (18,645)
Michigan head coach Brian Ellerbe
“OSU made the big plays down the stretch and we didn’t. We didn’t make the plays with the game on the line. During every timeout and every huddle, our players were very confident that we could pull out a win, but we just couldn’t.”
“Redd is a good player. He probably bothered Lou Bullock a little because Lou just wasn’t himself today.”
Ohio State head coach Jim O’Brien
“Tonight was another indication of a group of guys with heart and character. We stepped up at the end when it counted. Michigan is a good team which is hard to match up against around the basket.”
“At the end we just wanted Michael to go one-on-one. He made three good plays that had nothing to do with scoring.”
“Our defense was what got us back in the game. We became aggressive and made some good stops.”
“We got some good shots against their zone. However, none of our shots dropped. So I was surprised that they didn’t change it.”
“I hope our improvement doesn’t stop. We need to take our season one day at a time, only focusing on our next opponent.”
