Men’s Fencing Squares off at the Penn State Open – Ohio State Buckeyes

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – The Ohio State men’s fencing team began the first round of the Penn State Open today, winning two top 25 places in the match. Guy Loftin (Fr., Overland Park, Kan.) placed 9th in the sabre, while Joe Wernet (Sr., Bexley, Ohio) took the No. 24 spot in the same event.
The women’s division of the tournament begins tomorrow at the Mary Beaver White Building.
OSU will not compete again until Jan. 15 when it travels to Notre Dame, Ind., for the NAC Open/Junior. The first time the Buckeyes will compete in a meet where a team score is kept is Jan. 22 at Northwestern University.
