Men’s Ice Hockey Coach Named CCHA Coach of the Year – Ohio State Buckeyes

%^$Detroit, Mich. – Ohio State head coach John Markell was named the Central Collegiate Hockey Association Coach of the Year at the league’s award banquet last night in Detroit. %^$
%^$%^$
%^$The Buckeyes are currently 24-11-2 overall, finishing third in the CCHA in Markell’s second season with Ohio State. The Buckeyes were 12-25-2 last season. %^$
%^$%^$
%^$”I think this award is an acknowledgement that our program has come back fron the depths and being in last place,” Markell said. “I don’t accept this award alone because it took a lot of people – my staff and players – to win it.” %^$

%^$This is the highest CCHA finish for Ohio State in the last 14 years. %^$

%^$Ohio State faces Michigan (30-10-1) tonight in a CCHA Tournament semifinal in Joe Louis Arena. %^$
