Hockey Player Named to the CCHA All-Rookie Team – Ohio State Buckeyes

%^$COLUMBUS, Ohio – For the second consecutive year, an Ohio State player has been named to the Bauer/CCHA All-Rookie team. Jeff Maund (Fr., Mississauga, Ont.) became the first goalie in Ohio State history to be named to the All-Rookie team, the CCHA office announced today. Maund collected 17 victories this season – the third highest total in the CCHA and the most by an Ohio State goalie since the 1983-84 season. %^$

%^$His 2.51 goals against average ranks third among regular goalies in the CCHA, while his .913 save percentage is the second highest in the league.%^$%^$

%^$Two other Buckeyes – defenseman Andre Signoretti (Fr. Manotick, Ont.) and left wing Jean-Francois Dufour (Fr., Bedford, Que.) – were honorable mention All-Rookie team selections this year. %^$

%^$Joining Maund on the All-Rookie team were Rustyn Dolyny (Michigan State), Mark Kosick (Michigan), Kevin Swider (Ferris State), Mike Van Ryn (Michigan), and Mark Eaton (Notre Dame). %^$

%^$Last year, OSU sophomore Hugo Boisvert was named to the All-Rookie team and Ray Aho gained honorable mention All-Rookie honors. In all, five Ohio State freshmen (Boisvert, Aho, Maund, Dufour, Signoretti) have been honored over the past two seasons – more than any other team in the CCHA.%^$
