Buckeyes Place in Midwest Championships – Ohio State Buckeyes

NOTRE DAME, Ind. – The Ohio State fencing team competed in the Midwest Team Championships on Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 28 and March 1. Ohio State finished third overall combining all the men’s and women’s bouts. In squad competition, the women’s foil team captured first place, while the men’s epee team took third. Fayne Groes (Fr., Denmark) aided the women’s foil squad to its victory after having her appendix removed earlier in the season. She was not expected to compete the rest of the season. This weekend the Buckeyes will travel to Evanston, Ill. to compete in the NCAA Regionals on Saturday.
