December 17, 1998
COLUMBUS, Ohio –
%^$Attendance: (16,201)
%^$Ohio State head coach Jim O’Brien:
%^$”I’m happy to win another game here at home and to match our win total of last season this early.”
%^$”Scoonie, Michael, Jason and Jon came out early and played extremely well. We made some changes in our defense when we thought they became too comfortable in their offense. I thought that was the critical juncture in the game.”
%^$”Jon has been playing well. If he can get a little more physical, he could be a major factor.”
%^$”The turning point in this game was when we came out strong early in the second half.”
%^$Florida Atlantic head coach Kevin Billerman:
%^$”If Ohio State plays with that level of execution, they will do very well in the Big Ten.”
%^$”We’ve played some good teams and Ohio State is very good. Penn/Redd is the best backcourt we’ve played this year. When you have good guard play you can win a lot of games.”
%^$”Because of our shooting, I like when teams go zone against us and that’s the biggest difference between the Big Ten and the TAAC. When you come up here you have a 6-10 Johnson going against you as opposed to a 6-4 or 6-5 guy in the TAAC.”
