Women’s Soccer Falls to West Virginia – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The West Virginia Mountaineers ended up on the winning end of a rain-soaked 1-0 decision over Ohio State at the OSU Sports Field Wednesday. The match remained scoreless until the 88th minute when the Buckeye defense collapsed and Katie Barnes found Tonia Deligiannis in the middle of the OSU defense. Deligiannis lofted the ball at the left post and it slipped under the crossbar for the game-winning score.%^$
The Buckeyes, playing without three starters, managed to outshoot the Mountaineers 11-8 but couldn’t finish. Katy Traeger (Jr., Littleton, Colo.) led the squad with three shots.%^$
OSU will play a pair of Big Ten road matches this weekend as the Buckeyes take on Iowa, Friday at 3 p.m. and Minnesota, Sunday at 1 p.m. %^$
