
NCAA Recognition for Carson Meyer

COLUMBUS, Ohio — After a five-goal, six point weekend, Carson Meyer, a senior from Powell, Ohio, on the No. 10 Ohio State men’s hockey team, was named the NCAA First Star of the Week. His performance also nabbed the No. 5 spot on the NCAA Plays of the Week.
In the Buckeyes’ 9-1 win over Wisconsin Friday, Meyer, a draft pick of the Columbus Blue Jackets, had the first assist on the game’s opening goal and then scored four goals in a row, with one goal in the first and a hat trick in the second. This season, Meyer is first on the squad with 17 goals, ranking second with 31 points and tying for second with 14 assists, setting career highs in goals and points. He is tied for seventh among B1G skaters in points and ranks second in goals. He is tied for fifth in the NCAA with a team-best nine power play goals. He is on a five-game point streak, with six goals, four assists and 10 points in the stretch.
