Hong receives sportsmanship award for Ohio State
COLUMBUS, Ohio – Forward Jake Karabala, who leads the Ohio State men's hockey team in scoring, was named to the Big Ten All-Freshman Team, the Big Ten Conference announced Wednesday. Sophomore James Hong was the recipient of the Big Ten Sportsmanship Award for Ohio State.

Karabela, from Guelph, Ontario, is tied for 10th in the Big Ten in points per game (1.0) and tied for ninth in points. He is first for the Buckeyes with 22 assists and 36 points, ranking second with 14 goals. He has a team-high four gamewinning goals to rank 18th nationally. The forward is on a six-game point streak, with five goals, six assists and 10 points in the streak. He has multiple points in each of the last three games and had a hand in all three Buckeye goals in the 3-2 overtime win at Michigan State in the Big Ten Tournament semifinals last week. In league play, Karabela was first for the Buckeyes and tied for eighth among B1G skaters with 24 points in 24 conference outings (10g, 14a).
