Lasda Competes for Latvia at World Championships

Jamie Lasda, a rising junior on the Ohio State women’s lacrosse team, led the Latvian team in goals and points at the 2022 World Championships in Towson, Md., in early July.

In seven games, Lasda had 17 goals and 22 points, along with a team-best 27 draw controls, 16 ground balls and six caused turnovers. In the Platinum Bracket, she had a five-goal outing vs. Sweden in the quarterfinals (including the late gamewinner in a 12-11 victory) and scored four goals the following game against Italy in the semifinals. She also had a five-point day, with a hat trick and two assists, in pool play vs. Wales.

Latvia was 1-2 in pool play before posting back-to-back wins in the Platinum Bracket, reaching the semifinals. The squad fell to China in the 19th place game.
