COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State opened the second half on a big run and raced past UIndy 82-46 in an exhibition game on Monday night at Value City Arena.
Five Buckeyes scored in double-figures, led by sophomore Eugene Brown III who finished with 15 points and seven rebounds. Zed Key and E.J. Liddell each scored 12 points and grabbed nine rebounds. Key led everyone with four blocked shots. Meechie Johnson Jr. also chipped-in with 12 points and five rebounds while freshman Malaki Branham knocked-down a couple of threes and finished with 10 points.
For the game, the Buckeyes made 11 three-pointers and shot 44.8 percent overall from the floor.
UIndy kept it close early and was withing striking for most of the first half. But a 21-3 Buckeye run coming out of the break opened up a 62-28 lead and they put it in cruise control the rest of the way.
The Buckeyes will open the regular season on Nov. 9 vs. in-state foe Akron. Tip-off is set for 6 p.m. and coverage will be on ESPN2.
