COLUMBUS, Ohio – Clair DeGeorge and Amanda Thiele have been named to WCHA weekly honors, the conference announced Monday. Following a team-high seven-point weekend, DeGeorge earned the Forward of the Week accolade. Thiele earns her first WCHA Goaltender of the Week honor after posting a shutout in the Buckeyes’ 9-0 win over Minnesota State on Saturday.
DeGeorge recorded four points for Ohio State on Friday and added another three on Saturday against Minnesota State. Friday’s four-point performance marked a career single-game high for the Anchorage, Alaska native. With three assists on the day, she tied her career-high single-game assists for the fourth time in her career and second time this season.
On Saturday, the graduate student added another three points on two goals and an assist to record her 100th career point. DeGeorge scored both second period goals for the Buckeyes on Saturday, tying her career high of two goals in a game for the second time this season and seventh time in her career. She led the team with a +6 on ice in the series.
Thiele earned her third start of the season in Saturday’s game against the Mavericks. The sophomore recorded 19 saves in the contest on her way to her third win of the season and fifth of her career. Her performance marked the first shutout of her career at Ohio State.
