COLUMBUS, Ohio – Following a weekend in which she scored four goals and had two assists, senior forward Sarah Charley was selected on Monday as the Big Ten co-Offensive Player of the Week, the conference office announced this afternoon. She shares the honor with Penn State’s Sophia Gladieux.
Charley, from Worthington, led an Ohio State offense that scored 14 total goals in wins over Central Michigan and Ohio. In Friday’s 7-1 win at home over Central Michigan, Charley scored twice – once in the first quarter and then again in the fourth – and added an assist as Ohio State generated 31 total shots in the game.
On Sunday, Charley was at it again, finishing with two goals and an assist in the Buckeyes’ 7-1 win at Ohio. She now has a team-high eight goals on the season and is also the Buckeyes’ leader with 18 points. Both of those numbers rank in the top 10 among Big Ten players.
