COLUMBUS, Ohio—No. 7 Ohio State finished second Sunday at the 2021 Big Ten Championships at the Indianapolis Rowing Center in Eagle Creek Park in Indianapolis. Final results are below.
The Buckeyes scored 158 points in the seven-race event behind No. 1 Michigan (191) and ahead of No. 3 Rutgers (143)
Ohio State has won the Big Ten title nine times, including seven of the last 10 years in which the championships have been held. The 2020 season was canceled because of COVID-19 concerns.
The Buckeyes finished second in 2019 after winning the title six-consecutive times from 2013-18.
Following the 2021 championship the Big Ten announced the 2021 All-Big Ten teams.
The Buckeye award winners were: Leonie Heuer, First Team All-Big Ten, Liza Simaceva and Jessy Vermeer, Second Team All-Big Ten and Lena Harper, Ohio State’s Big Ten Sportsmanship Award honoree.
In addition to the No. 7 Buckeyes, five other Big Ten schools were ranked among the Top 20 nationally heading into the league championships–No. 5 Rutgers, No. 6 Michigan, No. 9 Indiana, No. 16 Minnesota and No. 20 Wisconsin.
Next up for Ohio State is the 2021 NCAA Championships May 28-30 at Nathan Benderson Park in Sarasota, Florida.
