COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State women’s tennis team has announced its full slate for 2022.
Again this season, the Buckeyes will head to Ann Arbor for their first competition of the new year, competing in the Michigan Invitational Jan. 14-17.
Dual matches start in North Carolina, as the Buckeyes will take on Duke Jan. 21 and NC State Jan. 23.
Ohio State will host ITA Kickoff Weekend matches Jan. 29-30. The Buckeyes are the No. 1 seed in Columbus and will face No. 4 Oklahoma State in the first round, with LSU and Tennessee meeting as well. The winners and losers will meet on day two, with the site winner advancing to the ITA National Team Indoor Championship Feb. 11-14 in Madison, Wis.
The Buckeyes have a match vs. Princeton scheduled for Feb. 12, but it will be canceled if either or both teams earn a spot at ITA Indoors.
Five of the Buckeyes’ next six dual matches will be on the road. Ohio State travels to Kentucky Feb. 18 before hosting Pepperdine Feb. 27. March is comprised of four road matches, starting with the Big Ten opener at Penn State March 4. Ohio State will play at Iowa March 18 and at Nebraska March 20 before a nonconference match vs. Arizona State March 27.
April begins with three home matches, as the Buckeyes will take on Michigan April 1, Michigan State April 3 and Northwestern April 8. Road matches at Purdue (April 10), Minnesota (April 15) and Wisconsin (April 17) follow.
Ohio State will close the regular season hosting Maryland April 22 and Rutgers April 24.
The Big Ten Tournament will be held April 27-May 1 in Iowa City, Iowa. Ohio State is the defending tournament champion.
Last year, the Buckeyes were the Big Ten regular season co-champion with a 15-1 B1G record. The squad was 23-4 overall and reached the NCAA Round of 16.
