COLUMBUS, Ohio –The Ohio State women’s hockey team moved up one spot to No. 2 in this week’s USCHO poll with 132 points. The Buckeyes are undefeated on the year, having swept both St. Thomas and Minnesota in the opening weeks of the season.

The team’s second place ranking in this week’s poll ties for the highest national ranking in program history. The Buckeyes also earned a No. 2 rating last season on Feb. 17, 2021, after a sweep of Minnesota at Ridder Arena.

Overall, five of the eight WCHA teams are earning national recognition in this week’s poll. Wisconsin holds on to the top spot while Minnesota and Minnesota Duluth come in at No. 6 and 7, respectively. Minnesota State is receiving votes.

Ohio State returns to action this weekend, hosting Bemidji State Oct. 15-16. Puck drop is set for 6 p.m. Friday and 3 p.m. Saturday at the OSU Ice Rink.
