COLUMBUS, Ohio – Rising senior all-arounder Justin Ah Chow and rising junior all-arounder Kameron Nelson are set to compete in the 2022 U.S. Classic, held in Salt Lake City on Sunday. Ah Chow will be competing in the first session and has already qualified for the USA Championships in August. Nelson is looking to secure his spot at the USA Championships by competing in the second session.
- Ah Chow earned All-American honors on parallel bars this past season by tying for fifth overall (14.233) and sticking his dismount at the NCAA Championships. He was also named one of the Big Ten Conference’s preseason Gymnasts to Watch.
- Nelson posted a career-high 14.800 on vault to capture the Big Ten Championship in the event and earn All-Big Ten First Team honors. Following the conclusion of the season, he became an Ohio State Scholar Athlete and was named to the Academic All-Big Ten team.
- Nelson finished the season ranked ninth nationally on floor with an average score of 13.963.
- Ah Chow and Nelson combined for eight event wins (including the vault championship) and 18 additional top-three event finishes.
- Ah Chow will compete in his third USA Championships as he previously went in 2018 and 2019. Nelson also competed in the 2019 USA Championships and is looking to make his second appearance.
