The Ohio State women’s basketball program, which had its game this Saturday against Iowa postponed amid a pause of all team-related activities, has had its pause of all team-related activities extended for at least the next seven days, and its games Dec. 23 at Maryland and Dec. 31 against Michigan State have now been postponed, as well.
The decision to pause activities and to postpone the games was made jointly by the Ohio State Department of Athletics and its sports medicine staff in consultation with the Big Ten Conference.
Ohio State will work with Maryland, Michigan State and the Big Ten Conference to identify potential rescheduling options later this season.
The health, safety and well-being of the student-athletes and the program’s coaching and support staff is the guiding concern of the Department of Athletics. Decisions on their welfare will continue to be made by Ohio State’s sports medicine staff.
The program will resume its team activities when its medical staff determines it is safe to do so based on protocols established by the Big Ten Conference.
