Student-Athletes to Receive Degrees at Autumn Commencement

Autumn 2022 Ohio State Student-Athlete Graduates
COLUMBUS, Ohio – Sunday, 49 current and former Ohio State student-athletes will receive degrees from the University. Commencement will be held at 2 p.m. in the Schottenstein Center.

- Men’s swimmer Sem Andreis was a CSCAA First Team All-American in the 50 free, 200 free relay, 200 medley relay, 200 free relay and 400 free relay. He claimed Big Ten titles in the 200 free relay, 400 free relay, 200 medley relay and 100 free.
- Irina Cantos Siemers is just the second two-time All-American in Ohio State women’s tennis history. She was the unanimous 2022 Big Ten Athlete of the Year and is a two-time All-Big Ten honoree. The ITA Scholar-Athlete has led the Buckeyes to back-to-back Big Ten regular season titles and the 2021 conference tournament crown.
- Clair DeGeorge helped the Ohio State women’s hockey team to its first national championship last season. She tallied a goal in the national championship game en route to a 3-2 Buckeye win over Minnesota Duluth for the national title. She was part of last year’s Buckeye squad that won its second WCHA Final Faceoff Championship trophy in three seasons.
- Xavier Green, a Second Team All-Big Ten honoree in 2022, led the Ohio State men’s soccer team in goals (5) and total points (14) in helping the Buckeyes to a second round appearance in the 2022 NCAA Tournament, the first for the Buckeyes since 2015.
- Football safety Ronnie Hickman was Ohio State’s leading tackler in 2021 and is a two-year starter for the Scarlet and Gray. A Second Team All-American this season by the Associated Press, Hickman has played in all 25 games over the past two seasons with 150 tackles, three interceptions and nine pass breakups.
- Paris Johnson Jr. earned consensus All-America honors this past season as a tackle on the football team. Johnson graduated with his degree in journalism in three years and has started 25 consecutive games for the Buckeyes. He was a First Team All-American this past fall by the Walter Camp Foundation, The Athletic, Football Writers Association of American and American Football Coaches Association.
- Taylor Mikesell capped her first season as a member of the Buckeye women’s basketball program ranking second in the country in three-pointers in 2021-22, a number that’s fifth among Ohio State’s single-season records. She was named one of the five finalists for the Ann Meyers-Drysdale Award and was a regional finalist for the coaches’ All-America team. This season, Mikesell is on the preseason watch list for the Ann Meyers-Drysdale Award, the Naismith Trophy and the Wooden Award.
