Athletic Counselor, Prevention and Performance Coordinator

Sydney Mack (She/Her), a social work master’s and doctoral student joins the team with over five years of experience working with programs that focus on capacity-building and healing through sport. She is passionate about bridging sport performance and mental health in sport contexts and obtained her Undergraduate degree from Davidson College in 2018. Since graduating, Sydney’s experiences include working on program expansion and development to empower young women with Girls on the Run International. She currently also works with The LiFEsports Initiative at OSU to provide sports-based programming to underserved youth and mental health and sport performance training for coaches across the state of Ohio. Sydney is interested in research related to enhancing athlete well-being and performance, using sport as a vehicle for positive development, life skill development and holistic approaches to health. She is currently training with the SPAWS staff to provide individual and group therapy, consultation, and other activities.
