Rob Keys

Senior Analyst

Rob Keys joined the Ohio State football staff in 2022 and currently serves as a senior analyst. Throughout his tenure he has primarily worked with the Buckeyes’ special teams.

Before coming to Ohio State, Keys spent 11 seasons as the head coach at the University of Findlay, compiling a 75-42 overall record. In 2021, he led the Oilers to their first conference title since joining the NCAA Division II ranks and was named both the Great Midwest Athletic Conference Coach of the Year and the NCAA Division II Region 3 Coach of the Year.

During his tenure at Findlay, Keys guided the Oilers to NCAA Division II playoff appearances in 2017 and 2021. His teams produced 10 NCAA Division II All-Americans, and 179 players earned all-conference honors.

Keys was hired as Findlay’s head coach on Dec. 16, 2010, after previously serving as the Oilers’ co-defensive coordinator and special teams coach from 2000-04. His coaching résumé also includes stops at West Virginia, Indiana State, Slippery Rock and Glenville State.

As a player at West Virginia, Keys earned special teams MVP honors in 1995, was the Mountaineers’ top walk-on in 1994 and was a two-time Mountaineer Club honoree. He was part of WVU teams that won the 1993 Big East championship and played in the 1994 Sugar Bowl and 1994 Carquest Bowl.

Keys earned both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in physical education from West Virginia and holds a postgraduate degree from the Marine Military Academy.
