Matt joined Ohio State in early 2024 as an Assistant Sport Scientist, contributing to athletic-related software development, data engineering, and data analysis projects. His work focuses on leveraging statistical analyses, data visualization, and data science to generate meaningful insights from sport datasets, supporting player evaluation and player development. Prior to joining Ohio State, Matt earned dual degrees in Computer Science and Mechanical Engineering from Case Western Reserve University (CWRU). During his time at CWRU, he was a captain of the varsity men's soccer team, a four-year letter winner, and a two-time All-American. Matt gained experience in software and mechanical engineering through internships at Bosch. In 2022, he worked as a Software Engineering intern, running and optimizing simulation test cases. While in 2021, he served as a Mechanical Engineering intern, conducting physical tests to ensure safety standards were met or exceeded. With a passion for sports and technology, Matt aims to integrate cutting-edge data science methodologies into sport science to enhance performance analysis, strategy development, and decision-making at Ohio State.
