• Named the ninth head coach in Ohio State men’s volleyball history on May 21, 2019
• The Buckeyes (23-10, 11-3) earned an NCAA Tournament berth in 2023 after winning the 2023 MIVA Regular Season and Tournament titles
• Ohio State defeated King University 3-0 for Burch’s first NCAA Tournament win April 30, 2023, in Fairfax, Virginia
• Earned win No. 50 with the Buckeyes at McKendree April 1, 2023 (3-1)
• Jacob Pasteur (1st Team), Cole Young (Honorable Mention) and Shane Wetzel (Honorable Mention) all were named AVCA All-Americans in 2023
• Pastuer (1st Team), Young (1st Team) and Wetzel (2nd Team) earned All-MIVA honors as well. Pasteur was named the 2023 MIVA Player of the Year while Wetzel took home Newcomer of the Year honors.
• Four members of the 2023 Recruiting class were named Volleyballmag.com Fab 50 roster with Wetzel earning the No. 4 spot on the list … He joined Dan Hurley, Jack O’Riordan and Niko Williams on the roster
• Ohio State finished the 2022 season with an overall record of 13-14 wi3-1)th a MIVA record of 7-7
• In 2022 Pasteur was named All-MIVA First Team with senior Martin Lallemand and junior Samuel Clark making the All-MIVA Second Team
• The Buckeyes were 9-10 in 2021 with an MIVA record of 8-6.
• Freshman Sotiris Siapanis was named the MIVA Freshman of the Year in 2021 as well as earning All-MIVA First Team honors. Senior Martin Lallemand was a second team All-MIVA as well.
• Guided the Buckeyes to an 11-8 record in first season (2020) at the helm including a pair of Top-10 victories
• Mentored three ’20 All-MIVA selections in First Team members Reese Devilbiss and Martin Lallemand and Second Team honoree Samuel Clark
“Kevin Burch has constructed a blueprint for the men’s volleyball program built on the same pillars and goals utilized as the foundation to our strategic plan,” Janine Oman, Deputy Director of Athletics and men’s volleyball program administrator, said. “He has demonstrated a commitment to our eight stated values as an athletics & business advancement department – integrity, education, people, excellence, respect, innovation, community and tradition.”
• Returned to Ohio State as a full-time assistant coach in May 2015 and immediately delivered on back-to-back NCAA championships (2016, 2017), extending an incredible streak of seven-consecutive academic years as a national champion
• The 2016 crown completed a circle for Burch as the title-clinching stretch started with the OSU graduate serving as Ohio State’s volunteer assistant coach during the 2011 campaign:

• Coached 26 AVCA All-Americans through 2019
• Mentored 62 OSU Scholar-Athletes as a Buckeye assistant coach from 2016-19
• 2017 recipient of the AVCA ’30 under 30' Award
• Steered the Buckeye defense to top-3 finishes nationally for opponent hitting percentage in 2016, ’17 and ’18
• Secured commitments from eight AVCA High School All-Americans, three USA U19 athletes and a pair of senior national team members as OSU’s recruiting coordinator (2016-19)
• Served as assistant coach and tech coordinator for the USA Boys U19 team since 2015
• 2012 AVCA D-III National Assistant Coach of the Year while at Springfield College
• Springfield paced the entire country with a .381 team attacking efficiency in 2012 under Burch’s guidance
• Earned a Sports and Leisure Studies degree from Ohio State in 2011
• Initial journey to Columbus was inspired by his late grandfather, Darrell Burch, a three-time Ohio State graduate who earned bachelors, masters and PhD degrees from the University in ’51, ’53 and ’59
• Garnered a 26-9 record as head coach of the Columbus State Community College women’s volleyball program in 2010
• Before transitioning into coaching full-time, Burch captained the 2008 Orange Coast College men’s volleyball team
