Brooks started his career as an Event Manager at The Schottenstein Center in 2015. After several years of managing concerts, sporting events, and other special events at The Schott, he transitioned into a specialized roll focusing on facility and event security and safety as the Safety and Event Services Manager at the Schottenstein Center. During that time, he oversaw facility security for the Schottenstein Center as well the Athletic Facilities on campus.

In 2021, Brooks took the lead of the metal detection and security operations for Game Day and special events at Ohio Stadium. In 2022, Brooks was promoted to the Director of Event Services for the Schottenstein Center and now oversees the Guest Services, Security, and Traffic/Parking departments. Also in 2022, Brooks received his Certified Sports Security Professional certification from The National Center for Spectator Sports Safety and Security (NCS4).

Following that in 2023, he was awarded the Emerging Industry Leader Award by NCS4. Outside of Ohio State, Brooks has assisted in a security role at several national events including the 2020 NCAA Women’s Basketball Final Four, Super Bowl, and NFL Draft.
