Adam Cope joined The Ohio State staff in January 2019 as the Technical Manager for the Covelli Center, where he is an integral part of the Video Engineering Technology Team within the IT Department. His expertise extends across all facilities, focusing on video technology. Cope attended Point Park University, where he focused on Technical Theatre. Cope’s primary responsibilities encompass the maintenance of video technology in live event and B1G+ control rooms, as well as across all Athletic facilities. Prior to joining Ohio State, he spent 13 years in Las Vegas, honing his technical skills in various aspects of live productions. During this time, Cope worked extensively with magicians and entertainers, contributing to the construction of stage productions. His role included handling stage, lighting, video, sound, and the intricacies of illusion creation and execution. Adding a personal touch, Cope shares a unique connection to Ohio State’s history; his grandfather, Ralph G. Bieber, worked for the Department of Photography and Cinema, filming football games in the 50’s and 60’s when the department was responsible for documenting Athletic games. Cope brings a wealth of experience and enthusiasm to his role at Ohio State.
